Scent

Bright melon-sweet, artificially green, candied. Like Midori sour in scent form — honeydew pushed past reality into neon territory. Sweet enough to be almost uncomfortable. Green, not from nature but from a cocktail glass.

The Full Story

Midori is a Japanese melon liqueur — bright green, intensely sweet, honeydew-flavored. The perfumery concept captures this specific artificial-melon sweetness: brighter than actual melon, greener, more candy-coded.

Built from melon-type aldehydes (2,6-nonadien-1-ol), ethyl maltol (sweet), green elements, and a boozy warmth. The synthetic-melon quality is deliberate — the note references the liqueur, not the fruit.

Functions in cocktail-themed and fruity-sweet compositions. Midori is one of several cocktail-ingredient notes appearing in contemporary niche perfumery.
