Longjing (Dragon Well) tea is China's most established green tea, produced around Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province. Unlike Japanese green teas (which are steamed), Longjing is pan-fired in a wok, giving it a particular nutty, chestnut-like, slightly toasted character. In perfumery, the note captures this specific tea style: vegetal but warm, green but rounded, with the comforting nuttiness of roasted chestnuts.
