Scent

Briny, mineral-marine, faintly iodine. Salt-sea intensity with a rich, almost fatty undertone. The smell of a fresh tin of Beluga opened at the table — ocean, salt, preserved luxury. Not pretty but compelling.

The Full Story

Caviar as a perfumery note captures the scent of salt-cured sturgeon roe: intensely briny, mineral-marine, with iodine notes and a faint, rich umami quality. No one extracts caviar for fragrance.

The accord combines marine-mineral notes (calone at low doses, marine aldehydes), salt accords, iodine-type elements, and a faint fatty richness. The luxury coding is conceptual — the scent itself is raw ocean preserved.

Functions in marine, luxury-concept, and provocative compositions. The appeal is the tension between the ingredient's exclusivity and its fundamentally 'fishy' reality.

Did You Know?

Did you know?
A single Beluga sturgeon (Huso huso) can live over 100 years and reach 7 meters in length, but must be at least 20 years old before producing eggs suitable for caviar. This extreme lifecycle combined with overfishing has made the species critically endangered.

In Perfumery

Fantasy marine-luxury concept. Built from marine aldehydes, salt accords, iodine elements, and fatty-rich notes. Functions in marine and luxury-themed compositions. The concept trades on exclusivity coding more than olfactory pleasure.
