Scent

Faint, dry, fibrous-green. Warm vegetation rather than flower — the scent of dried plants in still air. Barely perceptible: you register warmth and dryness more than any specific note.

The Full Story

Celosia (Celosia argentea and varieties) produces dramatically shaped flower heads — flame-like (plumed), brain-like (crested), or wheat-like (spiked). Despite their visual intensity, the flowers have negligible fragrance.

No extraction exists. The fantasy note captures the plant's dry, fibrous quality: warm vegetation, dry petals, faint earthy-green. More tactile than aromatic — the scent of dried flower arrangements rather than fresh gardens.

Functions as atmospheric filler in dried-flower, autumn, and warm-vegetation compositions.

Did You Know?

Did you know?
Celosia argentea is widely eaten as a leafy vegetable in West Africa and Southeast Asia — the leaves and young shoots are cooked like spinach. The plant is also used in traditional medicine across the tropics. The name derives from the Greek keleos (burning) — a reference to the flame-shaped flower heads.
