The Full Story

Citronellyl formate (CAS 105-85-1) is the formic acid ester of citronellol. Lighter, fresher, more transparent than citronellol. The formate group barely modifies the character but adds clean fruity brightness and faster evaporation.

Found in geranium and citronella oils at low levels.

Functions as a top-note modifier providing clean rosy freshness.
