The Full Story

Mineral notes carries the cold, clean smell of inorganic matter: wet stone, flint, chalk, granite after rain. Unlike earthy notes (which are biological), mineral notes suggest geological processes -- the smell of the planet's bones. In perfumery, mineral character comes from specific molecules: certain aldehydes, Ambroxan at threshold levels, and crystalline musk materials that the brain reads as 'stone.' Used in avant-garde and minimalist compositions.
